Find the gap
We identify what's actually holding the student back and focus the session there.
Learning Squid combines focused one-on-one support in math, physics and engineering with hands-on projects that make the ideas practical, memorable and worth exploring.

Traditional tutoring often stops once a student can finish the worksheet. Learning Squid goes one step further: we connect the academic concept to something the student can build, measure, test or explain themselves.
The goal isn't more schoolwork — it's schoolwork that finally feels connected to something real.
We identify what's actually holding the student back and focus the session there.
We work through problems together until the student can reason through them independently.
We use a project, experiment or design challenge to make the concept tangible and memorable.
Targeted support around the student’s current classes, weak spots and goals — clear explanations, guided practice and the time to understand why the method works.
Guided hands-on work that asks the student to apply what they just learned through practical experiments, design challenges and technical projects.
Projects are matched to the student's age, interests and current coursework. The point isn't complexity — it's connection.
Use voltage, resistance, logic and measurement to build small working systems and troubleshoot them together.
Physics + engineeringTurn algebra, geometry, functions and optimization into design constraints, predictions and measurable outcomes.
Math + problem solvingCollect real data on motion, forces, energy or waves, then use the student's class concepts to explain what happened.
Physics + dataLearning Squid focuses on STEM subjects where understanding the “why” makes everything else easier.
Algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus and practical problem-solving.
Math tutoring details → 02Mechanics, electricity, waves, energy and conceptual problem-solving.
Ask about physics → 03Circuits, electronics, design thinking, prototyping and intro programming.
Ask about engineering → 04Homework, SAT/ACT math prep, study habits, challenge work and long-term confidence.
Ask about test prep →Learning Squid was founded by Logan Kilgore around a simple idea: students learn more deeply when tutoring connects the classroom to the real world.
Sessions use an engineering mindset — break a problem down, understand the fundamentals, test an idea and keep improving it — while staying focused on the student’s actual class, goals and interests.
In-person sessions are available around Seattle and the Eastside, with online tutoring available anywhere. Common areas include:
Both. Learning Squid offers in-person tutoring around the Seattle area and online sessions for families who prefer remote learning.
We focus on math (algebra through calculus), physics, engineering and introductory programming, plus homework support, test preparation and study skills.
Sessions combine focused academic tutoring with hands-on projects that help students apply the concepts they are learning instead of only memorizing procedures.
Learning Squid is currently founder-led. Sessions are taught by Logan Kilgore, an electrical engineer with a background in technical problem solving and one-on-one tutoring.
Fill out the free consultation form below, call, or email us to talk about the student’s goals and schedule a first session.
Start with a free consultation. We'll talk about what the student is working on, where they're getting stuck, and whether Learning Squid is a good fit.
Send a quick note about what the student is working on and what you'd like to improve. We'll follow up to schedule a free consultation.
